The Global Learners classroom, which includes a 1 acre outdoor space and clubhouse.

Now is the time to inquire about joining our 6th – 8th grade 2024-25 class! Enrollment for Global Learners is open.

Join Global Learner’s homeschool co-op pod for Middle School! This small group of 6th – 8th graders are on a unique project based learning adventure together. We are located in the Talent / Ashland area of southern Oregon and we have space for a few more students to join us for the 2024-25 school year. In our homeschool co-op we explore academic subjects through monthly themes, with many opportunities for hands-on projects. Woven throughout the year is an international focus. We encourage student self-awareness, empathy and global citizenship.

We do have space available for one or two more creative students to join us for the current school year. During our spring semester we’re studying the animal kingdom through a range of hands-on activities, field trips and research. Later in the semester we’ll be delving into the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome. We will explore literature, music, art, mathematics and many cultural innovations to gain an understanding for complex society and our connection to the past.

What makes the Global Learners homeschool pod experience so unique?

Weekly field trips provide real world content connections

The homeschool co-op is located in Talent, Oregon just minutes from Ashland. Our classroom space is in a converted barn, with a large yard for outdoor activities.

  • A project based curriculum encourages students to take an active role in the learning process
  • Hands-on, creative learning built around core subjects, including language arts, math, science, history, art and global studies
  • Small group environment allows for customization of the lessons for learner interests, strengths and support needs
  • Arts as an integral part of the learning process, including ceramics, painting, wood working, fiber, music and culinary arts
  • Regular outdoor exploration, gardening and field trips
  • Focus on team work and collaborative skill building
  • Run as a homeschool co-op there is a lead teaching coach during all school hours. Parent participation is encouraged and welcomed to assist with projects and field trips as we build a strong community for the children.

The Co-op Concept and Parent Involvement:

Homeschooling as a team provides students with many benefits. While the lead teaching coach will be there during school hours, parents are encouraged to participate too! We will have monthly parent get-togethers to discuss upcoming projects. Unlike a traditional school, the co-op works as a team. How much or how little you want to be involved is ultimately up to you, but all the kids benefit from parents who are engaged.

Volunteer work includes field trips, project assistance, extra curriculars, assisting with cleanup, helping with fundraisers, etc. We value all different skill sets! And, many volunteer activities don’t have to happen during school hours. The goal is to make this a cohesive, supportive environment for all families.
